PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The grimy details of a disturbing case surface as Jeffrey W. Herschell, 54, from Washington, Pa., has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his heinous crimes against a minor. U.S. Attorney David J. Hickton and Special Agent John Kelleghan of ICE-HSI Philadelphia announced the sentence.
Herschell pleaded guilty before Judge David Cercone in January, admitting to sending money to the Philippines for an online sex show featuring a 12-year-old girl. His Pennsylvania residence was also found to contain child pornography videos.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between ICE-HSI Pittsburgh, the ICE-HSI Attache’s Office in the Philippines, the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Philippine National Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Lieber Smolar and Trial Attorney Bonnie L. Kane prosecuted the case.
