Waterbury Crack Dealer Sentenced to 5 Years
Waterbury, CT – CHARLES WILKERSON, 37, has been sentenced to 60 months of imprisonment for distributing crack cocaine, according to John H. Durham, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Wilkerson was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea in Hartford, Connecticut, on charges of distributing crack cocaine. He was arrested on August 16, 2018, on a federal criminal complaint.
Law enforcement made four controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Wilkerson in Waterbury in May and June 2018. One of the sales involved approximately 34 grams of crack. Wilkerson pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of 28 grams or more of cocaine base (‘crack’) on May 2, 2019.
Wilkerson’s criminal history includes several state convictions, including five convictions for distributing narcotics. At the time of the drug sales in May and June 2018, he was released on bond after being arrested in Torrington for distributing crack and other offenses.
Wilkerson is required to report to prison on October 7, after being released on a $200,000 bond. This matter was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Waterbury Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Natasha Freismuth.
