A South Portland man has been sentenced to 16½ years in prison for sexually exploiting a minor.
Wayne Niski, 29, was sentenced by Judge Jon D. Levy in U.S. District Court on September 10, 2015.
According to court records, in 2013, Niski took several sexually explicit photographs of an eight-year-old girl.
In March 2015, investigators executed a search warrant at Niski’s residence in South Portland. Among the items found in the residence was a USB flash drive that contained copies of the images that Niski had taken in 2013.
The investigation was conducted by the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
Niski pleaded guilty to the charge on September 10, 2015.
