Webb Busted for Third Time in Cocaine Deal
In a shocking turn of events, Deon Webb, a 44-year-old Jefferson Hills man, has pleaded guilty to violating federal narcotics laws, marking his third federal drug trafficking offense. Webb’s guilty plea was announced by United States Attorney Scott W. Brady in a statement released earlier today.
According to court documents, Webb’s latest run-in with the law began in 2017, when investigators from the DEA and the Allegheny County District Attorney’s office coordinated a controlled purchase to buy cocaine from Webb. A DEA confidential source made arrangements to buy cocaine from Webb over the phone, and the two met at a shopping plaza in North Versailles, PA.
Webb arrived at the location in his Black Infinity QX60, exited the vehicle, and got into the source’s car. He then handed over 4.5 ounces of cocaine, approximately 120 grams, in exchange for $4,750. The source then turned over the cocaine to investigators, who had been monitoring the transaction.
The Allegheny County Crime Lab tested the substance and confirmed that it was indeed cocaine. Webb’s prior federal drug trafficking convictions will see him face sentencing as a career offender, with a maximum total sentence of 30 years in prison, a fine of $2,000,000, or both.
Webb will continue to be detained pending sentencing, which has been set for Thursday, January 17, 2019. Assistant United States Attorney Timothy M. Lanni is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
