PORTLAND, Ore.—Lucas Christopher Perillo, a 41-year-old resident of West Linn, Oregon, is facing federal charges for his alleged illegal possession of machine guns, unregistered short-barreled rifles, and firearm silencers.
Perillo has been charged by criminal complaint with unlawful possession of a machinegun and unlawful possession of an unregistered short-barreled rifle or silencer. The grim discovery was made on June 17, 2025, when FBI agents executed federal search warrants at Perillo’s residence and vehicle.
During the raid, agents seized a chilling arsenal: 36 firearms in total, including three firearms equipped with machine gun switches and 13 unregistered short-barreled rifles. The presence of these conversion devices, often referred to as switches, highlights the ease with which firearms can be transformed from semi-automatic to fully-automatic.
Perillo was arrested on July 11, 2025, in West Linn. Today, he made his first appearance in federal court before a U.S. Magistrate Judge, where he was ordered detained pending further court proceedings. The case is being prosecuted by Parakram Singh, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon.
This investigation was spearheaded by the FBI with support from the Oregon State Police. Perillo’s criminal complaint stands as an accusation of a crime; until proven guilty, he is presumed innocent.
