Charles E. Jefferson, Heroin Distribution, West Virginia 2014

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A Westover man was sentenced to 37 months in prison for selling heroin, officials announced today. Charles E. Jefferson, 26, was found guilty of distributing heroin after a West Virginia State Police investigation.

According to court documents, Jefferson pled guilty in February 2014 to one count of ‘Distribution of Heroin.’ Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

U.S. District Judge Irene S. Keeley presided over the case. The investigation was led by the West Virginia State Police.

The sentencing comes after a thorough investigation that brought Jefferson to justice. Heroin distribution has been a major concern in West Virginia, with many individuals struggling with addiction.
