A Johnstown, Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 63 months in prison followed by five years’ supervised release for possessing material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor, announced United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung today.
Senior United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposed the sentence on William Jay Clark, 34, who was found guilty of knowingly possessing pictures and videos in individual computer graphic files which were produced using prepubescent minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. The computer graphic files were shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.
According to information presented to the court, on February 23, 2017, Clark knowingly possessed the explicit material, which led to his conviction. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Arnold P. Bernard Jr. on behalf of the government.
United States Attorney Chung commended the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations for the investigation that led to the successful prosecution of Clark. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
