Child Porn Possession Lands Delmont Man 63 Months in Prison

A former resident of Delmont, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 63 months in federal prison for his conviction of possession of child pornography, announced United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan today.

Joshua K. Minehart, 47, was found guilty of knowingly possessing 40 videos of child pornography, some of which involved children who had not attained the age of 12.

Chief United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak handed down the sentence to Minehart, a former resident of Delmont.

Assistant United States Attorneys Nicole Vasquez-Schmitt and DeMarr W. Moulton prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

United States Attorney Olshan commended the Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Pennsylvania State Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Minehart.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
