Windsor, CT – In a stunning revelation from the District of Connecticut, Samantha Ellis, 34, has pleaded guilty to providing contraband Suboxone to an inmate at the U.S. Penitentiary in Allenwood, Pennsylvania (USP Allenwood).

Ellis, a resident of Windsor, was caught on video smuggling a small blue balloon containing around 20 strips of the Schedule III controlled substance into USP Allenwood’s visiting room, where she met with Tyshawn McDade. The 34-year-old inmate swallowed the balloon before being intercepted by a corrections officer.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal Bureau of Prisons are leading the investigation into this smuggling operation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sean P. Mahard and Geoffrey W. MacArthur are prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
