Oxycodone Trafficking Couple Gets 2 Years in Federal Prison

A West Bend couple, Michael Stolp (44) and Judith Stolp (44), has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for their roles in a conspiracy to illegally distribute Oxycodone.

According to a recent investigation, the Stolps would sell up to 400-500 pills of Oxycodone per month to an individual for a profit, who would then resell the pills to others. The pills were obtained through the illegal misuse of a valid prescription Michael Stolp had received for Oxycodone due to a back injury. Oxycodone is a Schedule II controlled substance.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Washington County Drug Enforcement Group. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Karine Moreno-Taxman.

United States Attorney James L. Santelle of the Eastern District of Wisconsin announced the sentencing, which was handed down by District Court Judge Charles N. Clevert. The Stolps’ actions not only put the public at risk, but also undermined the integrity of the healthcare system.

The sentencing of the Stolps serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in illicit activities, particularly those that involve controlled substances. The investigation and prosecution of this case demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combatting the opioid epidemic and protecting the community.

The case highlights the importance of vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies, healthcare providers, and the community in preventing the diversion of prescription medications.

In related news, the Washington County Drug Enforcement Group will continue to work with local healthcare providers to educate them on the risks of prescription medication diversion and provide resources for identifying and reporting suspicious activity.
