Young Charged with Gun, Cocaine Possession

A Pittsburgh man is facing serious charges after being accused of possessing crack cocaine and firearms. Keenan Young, 27, was indicted by a federal grand jury on two counts of violating federal narcotics and firearms laws.

According to the indictment, on or about April 16, 2021, Young was found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Additionally, Young was found to be in possession of a firearm and ammunition. His prior felony conviction makes it unlawful for him to possess a firearm or ammunition.

Young’s indictment is a result of an investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael R. Ball on behalf of the government.

Young is currently being detained at Allegheny County Jail, awaiting his trial. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not more than 30 years in prison, a fine of $2,250,000 or both. The actual sentence will be based on the seriousness of the offenses and Young’s prior criminal history.

It’s worth noting that an indictment is an accusation, and Young is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The trial will determine the outcome of this case, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.

We will continue to follow this story and provide any updates as the trial progresses. For now, Young remains a defendant in the eyes of the law, and his fate will be decided by the court.

The Pittsburgh community is still reeling from the news of Young’s indictment, and many are left wondering what this means for the city’s fight against crime. As Grimy Times continues to investigate and report on this story, we will provide any updates and insights that come to light.
