Predator Sentenced to 25 Years for Targeting Minors

Larry Wayne Wilder, a 28-year-old former manager at Twin Peaks in Maumelle, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for attempting to entice a minor to engage in a sex act and producing child pornography.

Wilder, who pleaded guilty to two counts, was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Brian S. Miller to 120 months for attempted enticement of a minor and 180 months for production of child pornography. The sentences will run consecutively, totaling 300 months or 25 years in prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release.

According to the investigation, Wilder had been using social media to communicate with minors, pretending to be a minor himself. He admitted to lying about his age and paying minors for sex. A search of his phone revealed 140 videos and 2,600 images of child pornography.

Wilder’s arrest came after the FBI received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that he was having inappropriate communications with minors. An online takeover of one of the minors’ social media accounts led to his arrest when he arrived at a local park to meet an undercover officer.

U.S. Attorney Christopher R. Thyer stated, ‘Today’s case continues to show the dark side of the internet and the ease with which adults can prey on young children.’ He warned parents to be vigilant in monitoring their children’s social media usage.

Special Agent in Charge Diane Upchurch added, ‘Today’s sentence demonstrates the resolve of law enforcement to apprehend dangerous sex offenders who take advantage of our most precious resource, our children.’

The investigation was conducted by the Little Rock Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
