Terry DeWayne Macon, a 29-year-old Tennessee man, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for transporting a 14-year-old Mississippi girl to Tennessee on multiple occasions for sex. The abuse occurred in 2024, when Macon met the victim online and drove from Tennessee to Mississippi to pick her up and bring her back to his home state. Macon, who was 27 at the time of the abuse, admitted to engaging in sex acts with the minor.
The investigation involved members of Mississippi’s FBI Child Abduction Response Team, the Corinth Police Department, and other local agencies from Tennessee. They located the victim with Macon at a residence in Grand Junction, Tennessee, and safely returned her home.
Macon was found guilty by a federal jury in December 2025 on all counts of transporting a minor in interstate commerce with the intent to engage in unlawful sexual activity. He will also serve 5 years of supervised release and register as a sex offender. Additionally, Macon was sentenced to 24 months for violating his federal supervised release, which will run concurrent to his 30-year sentence.
The case highlights the efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat child sex abuse and protect victims. United States Attorney Scott Leary stated that those who abuse children are among the most abhorrent of criminals and will be pursued tirelessly by law enforcement.
