Trevor Metterhauser, a 41-year-old Pennsylvania man, has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for his role in the aggravated sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of two toddlers in upstate New York and Texas. Metterhauser’s crimes involved conspiring with others to abuse the children, recording the abuse, and possessing child pornography. The crimes took place in late 2022, with Metterhauser traveling from Pennsylvania to New York and Texas to commit the abuse.
Metterhauser’s guilty plea revealed a disturbing pattern of behavior, including a previous conviction for possessing child pornography in Pennsylvania in 2011. In November 2022, he conspired with Brandon Whitford to sexually exploit a 4-year-old girl in New York, making recordings of the child naked and receiving child pornography from Whitford.
In December 2022, Metterhauser agreed with Carlos Julian Ruiz to sexually assault a 2-year-old child in Texas, recording the abuse and bringing the recordings back to New York. When he was arrested in early 2023, Metterhauser had multiple electronic devices containing the recordings and child pornography.
In addition to the 80-year prison sentence, Metterhauser will serve a lifetime term of supervised release, pay $78,000 in restitution to the victims, and a $1,000 special assessment. The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino.
