9 Years for Old Orchard Beach Pharmacy Robbery
Billy Schildroth, 37, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, was sentenced to nine years in prison and three years of supervised release for pharmacy robbery.
On February 13, 2014, Schildroth robbed a Rite Aid pharmacy in Old Orchard Beach, making off with Oxycontin (oxycodone) and Suboxone (buprenorphine) after threatening the pharmacist.
According to court records and evidence introduced at the plea hearing, Schildroth put his hand inside his coat and told the pharmacist that he had ‘a gun and five bullets’ and not to alert anyone or he would shoot the pharmacist in the face.
Schildroth’s sentencing came after he pled guilty on August 1, 2014. Judge Nancy Torresen noted the danger Schildroth’s actions posed to both the pharmacist and the community and Schildroth’s criminal history that included a residential burglary and two drug trafficking convictions.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Old Orchard Beach Police Department.
On October 8, 2014, Kyle Desmarais, Schildroth’s accomplice, was sentenced to 2½ years for aiding and abetting pharmacy robbery.
