Beatrice L. Randall, Health Care Fraud, Illinois 2014

East Saint Louis woman, Beatrice L. Randall, 59, pleaded guilty to health care fraud in federal court.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Randall engaged in a scheme to commit health care fraud by submitting false and fraudulent claims in regard to the hours of services performed by her personal assistant under the Illinois’ Home Services Program.

The Illinois’ Home Services Program is a Medicaid Waiver Program designed to allow individuals to stay in their homes instead of entering a nursing home.

The false billing occurred between October 15, 2012 and January 31, 2013.

Randall faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to 3 years of supervised release.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General and the Illinois State Police, Medicaid Fraud Control Bureau.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William E. Coonan and Special Assistant United States Attorney Michael J. Hallock.
