Devon Robinson, Fentanyl Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2017

A pair of Allegheny County residents has been slapped with federal charges for their alleged involvement in fentanyl trafficking and firearms offenses.

Devon Robinson, 29, and James Kadish, 27, were indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on multiple counts of violating federal narcotics and firearms laws, according to United States Attorney Scott W. Brady.

The indictment alleges that on December 3, 2017, Robinson and Kadish possessed with the intent to distribute and distributed a quantity of fentanyl. Additionally, on December 4, 2017, Robinson is accused of possessing with intent to distribute a quantity of fentanyl and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of not more than 10 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.

The federal narcotics charges carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses, and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the West Mifflin Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case. Assistant United States Attorney Timothy M. Lanni is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.

An indictment is an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
