Thomas W. Faircloth, Distributing Child Pornography, GA, 2023

CAIRO, GA — The grim streets of Cairo were witness to a solemn justice as Thomas W. Faircloth, 37, received a 151-month federal prison sentence for the heinous crime of distributing child pornography.

The United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, Michael J. Moore, announced the sentencing by U.S. District Court Judge W. Louis Sands on October 20, 2014. Faircloth will also face lifetime supervision and be registered as a sex offender under SORNA.

On November 13, 2012, Faircloth used the Gigatribe program to distribute 22 still images and 17 video files depicting child pornography to an undercover FBI agent. During a search warrant execution on February 18, 2013, investigators uncovered thousands of images and video files of child pornography on Faircloth’s laptop computer, many featuring very young children.

“As we strive every day to protect our children from even the slightest harm,” said U.S. Attorney Moore, “we must remain mindful of those who victimize innocent children over and over again by distributing horrific depictions of child pornography online.”

J. Britt Johnson, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Atlanta Field Office, echoed the sentiment: “The children depicted in these images are re-victimized each time those images are re-distributed by individuals such as Mr. Faircloth. The FBI will continue to provide significant investigative resources toward identifying and presenting for prosecution those who would exploit our nation’s children in such a manner.”

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Jim Crane prosecuting on behalf of the Government. For any questions concerning this case, contact Public Information Officer Pamela Lightsey at (478) 621-2603.
