Robert Acker, a 34-year-old resident of Cheektowaga, NY, has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in federal court. The grim revelation came from U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo’s courtroom, where Acker faced a potential sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for his despicable crime.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott S. Allen Jr. disclosed that law enforcement executed a search warrant at Acker’s residence on September 1, 2016. The seizure yielded electronic devices and DVDs, which forensic analysis revealed contained more than 7,000 images of child pornography. Among these harrowing materials were explicit content involving prepubescent children under 12 years of age and graphic depictions of violence.
