A 44-year-old man from Arnold, Pennsylvania, has been handed a hefty prison sentence for his role in a large-scale cocaine trafficking operation. Milton Paschal, a resident of Arnold, was sentenced to 132 months in prison, with six years of supervised release to follow, for his convictions of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
The sentence was handed down by Senior United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson in federal court. According to the prosecution, Paschal conspired with others to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing cocaine between September 2021 and March 2023 in the Western District of Pennsylvania. Additionally, in December 2022, Paschal was found to have possessed with intent to distribute a quantity of a mixture and substance containing cocaine.
Paschal was intercepted on a federal wiretap obtaining quantities of cocaine that he distributed to others, further highlighting the extent of his involvement in the trafficking operation.
Assistant United States Attorney Arnold P. Bernard Jr. led the prosecution on behalf of the government, working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Laurel Highlands Resident Agency and Homeland Security Investigations to bring Paschal to justice.
United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan commended the efforts of the agencies involved in the investigation, stating, “This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation, which aims to disrupt and dismantle the highest-level drug traffickers and their networks.” The OCDETF approach leverages the strengths of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to combat organized crime and protect the public.
Paschal’s sentencing marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in the region. As the Grimy Times continues to delve into the world of crime and corruption, we remain committed to shedding light on the most pressing issues affecting our communities.
