Abusive Sexual Contact Lands Man 78 Months in Federal Prison
A Marshall County man has been sentenced to serve 78 months in federal prison for his role in the sexual abuse of a child.
Dominic Steven Redday, age 43, was found guilty of Abusive Sexual Contact and sentenced by U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann on August 30, 2021.
According to court documents, Redday knowingly engaged in, and attempted to engage in, sexual contacts with a young female victim between April 2011 and 2012. At the time of the abuse, the victim was just 12 years old.
Redday, who was indicted by a federal grand jury on August 17, 2020, for Abusive Sexual Contact of a Child and Sexual Abuse of a Minor, pleaded guilty on June 7, 2021.
As a result of the sentence, Redday will also spend five years on supervised release after completing his prison term. Additionally, he was ordered to pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
The case was investigated by the Sisseton Wahpeton Tribal Law Enforcement Criminal Investigations Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeremy Jehangiri prosecuted the case, which ultimately led to Redday being turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
Redday’s sentence is a stark reminder of the severity of crimes involving the sexual abuse of children. The Grimy Times will continue to bring you updates on this and other cases as more information becomes available.
