Barold Raven, Cocaine Heroin Trafficking, Louisiana 2023

Shocking Revelations in Cocaine Heroin Trafficking Ring

Five individuals have been brought to justice in connection with a large-scale cocaine heroin methamphetamine trafficking network based in Iberville Parish, Louisiana.

According to a federal investigation, the individuals worked in concert with each other to distribute drugs throughout Iberville, Ascension, East Baton Rouge, and West Feliciana parishes.

At the center of the case is Barold Raven, a 47-year-old resident of St. Gabriel, Louisiana. Raven was sentenced to 120 months imprisonment in federal prison following his conviction for conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and cocaine, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The court further sentenced Raven to serve five years of supervised release following his term of imprisonment. Raven’s involvement in the conspiracy was a key part of the investigation, which was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, Gonzales Police Department, East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, Baton Rouge Police Department, and Louisiana State Police.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William K. Morris. This effort is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach.

Additional information about the OCDETF Program can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF. The sentencing of Raven and the other individuals involved in the case sends a strong message that those involved in cocaine heroin trafficking will be held accountable for their actions.
