A British citizen with a penchant for aliases has been caught trying to sneak back into the US with no legal status, federal authorities say. John O’Rourke, 27, also known as John Casey, was busted reentering the country near the Canadian border in October 2024.
The UK native was deported back to Canada on foot but apparently didn’t take the hint. He was later arrested in Bridgeport, Connecticut, in February 2025, under one of his many aliases, and charged with state offenses.
Investigations revealed O’Rourke had pending cases in multiple states, including New York, Washington, and New Jersey, and a warrant out for his arrest in Connecticut. He was finally caught in Pleasonton, California, on March 2, 2026, on a warrant issued by a judge in Torrington, Connecticut.
O’Rourke faces charges of illegally reentering the US, larceny, and other crimes.
