Cruz, 37, and Ramirez, 41, sold over $4 million in counterfeit clothing, handbags, and jewelry across the US, using Facebook live shows and peer-to-peer payment apps like CashApp and Venmo.

Between 2021 and 2024, they imported fake goods from Thailand, China, and Hong Kong, and had them shipped to their New Britain home, where Customs and Border Protection seized thousands of dollars’ worth of fakes.

On December 19, 2024, authorities searched their home and found nearly 2,000 units of counterfeit goods.

Now, they’re facing a combined fine of $30,000 and a year of probation each, along with restitution totaling $10,711.25.
