RALEIGH, N.C. – In a gritty victory against organized crime, two Rocky Mount men have been handed lengthy sentences for their role in distributing deadly drugs. Tyrone Foreman, also known as Tye Nitty, and Benjamine Moss Jr., along with Dentrez Randell Thomas, were found guilty of operating within the United Blood Nation gang’s drug trafficking network.
Moss, 31, received a sentence of 246 months for conspiring to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and marijuana, as well as possessing a firearm during drug trafficking. Thomas, 28, was sentenced to 151 months for similar charges.
U.S. Attorney Michael Easley emphasized the impact on local communities: “These individuals peddled poison to our streets. Our citizens are safer today with this source of illegal drugs removed.”
The investigation revealed a pattern of violence and intimidation, with Moss and Thomas often carrying firearms to threaten lower-level distributors. Their arrest followed a December 2020 traffic stop in Maryland, where over 3,500 dosage units of heroin/fentanyl mixture were seized.
ATF Special Agent in Charge Bennie Mims praised the operation: “Stopping drug flow is crucial for reducing violent crime. These gang members have been responsible for much violence, and their capture is a win for public safety.”
Rocky Mount Police Chief Robert Hassell highlighted the collaborative efforts of federal, state, and local law enforcement, stating, “Our vision is to make Rocky Mount one of the safest cities in North Carolina. These convictions are a testament to our collective dedication.”
