Four Milwaukee men have been locked up for their roles in a string of armed pharmacy robberies that terrorized the community and put innocent lives at risk.
According to court documents, Robert K. Love (30), Theodore D. Smith (31), Alex M. Rollins (31), and Kenta D. Tittle (23) carried out a series of brazen robberies at pharmacies in Milwaukee in November 2021. The thieves brandished a handgun during the heists, intimidating and physically assaulting pharmacy staff in the process. They made off with significant quantities of controlled substances, which were then distributed on the black market.
The investigation, led by the FBI and Milwaukee Police Department, revealed that Love, Smith, and Rollins had been involved in the November 2021 robberies, while Tittle assisted in the thefts of three handguns from federal firearms licensees in October 2021. Love had also made false statements to law enforcement in November 2022.
On May 2, 2024, United States District Judge J.P. Stadtmueller handed down sentences for each of the defendants. Smith received a 15-year prison term, while Rollins was sentenced to 6 years. Love was given a 14-year prison term, followed by a term of supervised release. Tittle was sentenced to 22 months in prison.
The sentences were met with praise from law enforcement officials, who hailed the convictions as a major victory in the fight against violent crime. “Pharmacy robberies cause multiple layers of harm, placing the physical safety of others at risk, traumatizing victims, and introducing controlled substances into the community,” said U.S. Attorney Gregory J. Haanstad. “I commend everyone who played a role in pursuing justice in these matters.”
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Farris Martini and Margaret B. Honrath. The victims of these heinous crimes can finally find some sense of closure, knowing that those responsible are behind bars. The community can rest a little easier, knowing that justice has been served.
The sentences handed down in this case send a strong message to those who would seek to profit from violence and crime. The FBI, Milwaukee Police Department, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will continue to work together to bring individuals like these to justice.
