Idaho Falls Couple Face Over a Decade in Prison for Drug Distribution

Pocatello – In a relentless takedown of drug trafficking in Eastern Idaho, Richard Corey Fox, 54, and Angelina Larae Norton, 61, were sentenced to a combined ten years plus for distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine. U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit announced the sentence on May 28th.

According to court records, detectives with the BADGES Task Force had been hot on their trail since summer 2022. On July 19, 2022, during a traffic stop on Fox’s vehicle, an ounce of meth and cash were seized. Norton’s vehicle was stopped shortly after, revealing three-quarters of a pound of meth. Phone communications linked both to the illegal drug trade.

On May 28th, Judge David C. Nye sentenced Fox to 92 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. Norton received 37 months in December 2023, with an additional three years of supervision. “This case exemplifies our commitment to removing dangerous drugs from our streets,” said U.S. Attorney Hurwit.

Pocatello Police Chief Roger Schei praised the collaboration among law enforcement agencies: “This is a testament to the power of working together for one goal.” The BADGES Task Force, involving DEA, Idaho State Police, and local departments, played a pivotal role in the investigation.

The HIDTA program, sponsored by the ONDCP, supported this multiagency effort. The BADGES Task Force, a federal-state-local collaboration, focuses on drug trafficking in Bannock County and beyond. Assistant U.S. Attorney Blythe H. McLane prosecuted the case.
