Lenin Nova-Nova, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Maine 2023

BANGOR, Maine — In a chilling revelation from the East Millinocket traffic stop, 42-year-old Dominican national Lenin Nova-Nova has pleaded guilty to possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute. The grim discovery of 113 grams of methamphetamine, along with fentanyl and cocaine base, could lead to life imprisonment for Nova-Nova.

The story begins in November 2023 when police stopped a vehicle for a faulty headlight. Inside, they found an unnatural bulge under Nova-Nova’s clothing. He initially gave a false name, but an outstanding warrant was discovered upon checking that alias. Further search of Nova-Nova revealed $1,305 in cash and four cell phones, along with suspected drugs wrapped in cellophane.

Homeland Security Investigations stepped in to identify the suspect, who now faces federal charges. The methamphetamine is valued at approximately 113 grams of 100% pure, while the fentanyl and cocaine base add significant weight to the case.

Nova-Nova’s fate is now in the hands of the U.S. Probation Office, which will prepare a presentence investigation report before sentencing him. A federal district judge will then decide on his sentence based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.

The East Millinocket Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations have been instrumental in this drug trafficking bust. Nova-Nova now faces a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison, alongside a fine that could reach $10 million.
