Omaha Man Sentenced for Child Pornography

Lucas J. Lacy, a 40-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for accessing child pornography. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher on August 20, 2025, in federal court in Omaha.

United States Attorney Lesley A. Woods announced the sentencing, noting that Lacy’s conviction is a result of his possession and intent to view visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. This marks a continuation of Lacy’s criminal record, which includes previous convictions for Receipt and Distribution of Child Pornography and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

In 2009, Lacy was sentenced to 60 months’ imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release for the distribution charge. He served this term before being re-sentenced in 2018 for failing to register as a sex offender, resulting in an additional 18 months’ imprisonment and another 10 years of supervised release.

On November 22, 2021, Lacy’s residence was searched by the United States Probation Office. This search yielded two unauthorized cellphones, one of which contained at least one image of child pornography. Additional analysis revealed 16 internet search terms indicative of his ongoing interest in such material.

This case is a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse that has been in effect since May 2006. The Omaha FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force led the investigation into Lacy’s activities.
