Homietos Gang Faces Federal Heat

⏱ 3 min read

Houston streets just got a crackdown. Seventeen alleged members and associates of the Homietos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang are facing federal charges after a grand jury indictment revealed years of alleged racketeering, including a murder, attempted murder, and multiple assaults. The feds moved this week, hauling in key players and scheduling court appearances – a clear signal they’re done cutting these guys slack.

The indictment paints the Homietos not as weekend bikers, but as a ruthless crew actively expanding its territory through violence. Authorities claim the gang systematically used intimidation and bloodshed to control the streets. Among those caught in the net: Ralph Eugene Kellum, 42, of Vidor; Romeo Jose Ferrer, 36, of Kingsville; and Mark Anthony Magallan, 51, of Houston. Kellum and Ferrer are due in court this week, while Magallan fights to avoid pre-trial detention.

“This wasn’t a joyride gone wrong,” Acting U.S. Attorney John G.E. Marck told reporters. Translation: these weren’t accidents, they were intentional acts of violence. The government’s promising maximum penalties, sending a blunt message that turning roads into battlegrounds won’t be tolerated.

The FBI spearheaded the investigation, bringing in a coalition of federal, state, and local agencies. Special Agent in Charge Jason Hudson claims the arrests effectively dismantled the Homietos OMG, declaring the gang “no more.” Whether that’s wishful thinking or reality remains to be seen, but the feds are confident this investigation will ripple through Houston’s underworld.
