A 51-year-old Mexican national is going down for the largest cocaine seizure in Green Bay history. Ruben Salgado-Espinoza led a massive trafficking operation, bringing in hundreds of kilograms of the white stuff from Mexico.
From a secret compound in Rockford, Illinois, Salgado-Espinoza received massive shipments of coke and modified vehicles to hide the drugs in ‘trap cars’ – vehicles designed to conceal and transport the illicit goods.
Green Bay cops busted Salgado-Espinoza on April 22, 2025, with 30 kilograms of cocaine in tow, an amount that’s still the largest ever seized in the city.
Salgado-Espinoza, twice deported in the past, admitted to distributing between 18 and 35 kilograms of cocaine per month for the past 18 months, with the total estimated street value of several million dollars.
After serving 169 months, Salgado-Espinoza will be deported back to Mexico, where he should have stayed in the first place.
