Omaha Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Illegally Possessing a Firearm
A 30-year-old Omaha man is heading to federal prison for three years and one month after being caught with a firearm. Aaron Craddock, age 30, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced to imprisonment on [no date specified but likely same as sentencing date] by the Honorable Laurie Smith Camp.
Craddock had previously pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. Upon completion of his imprisonment, he will be on three years of supervised release.
On December 2, 2015, at approximately 9:21 p.m., officers of the Omaha Police stopped a car for turning into a driveway on J.A. Creighton Boulevard without using a turn signal. Craddock was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
A drug dog alerted on the car, prompting officers to search the vehicle and find 10 pounds of marijuana. The officers then obtained a search warrant for Craddock’s residence and discovered a Taurus .40 caliber handgun in his bedroom.
As a result of his prior felony conviction, Craddock is prohibited from possessing firearms, making the charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm a serious offense.
The case was investigated by the Omaha Police.
