A former boyfriend used his phone and a ride-sharing service to stalk and kill his ex-girlfriend, an Air Force Reservist, in Pensacola, Florida. Charles Carson-Dowdy, 31, of Mobile, Alabama, pleaded guilty in federal court to cyberstalking, murder, and firearm charges.
Starmichael L. Tucker, 30, was killed on January 1, 2025, after she tried to end their relationship. The two had been dating since October 2024 and their relationship had turned violent.
Court documents reveal that Carson-Dowdy used his phone to harass and intimidate Tucker, and even used the Uber ridesharing service to travel to her residence in Pensacola to confront her. He brought a Taurus handgun with him, which he used to kill Tucker.
Carson-Dowdy, a convicted felon, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The guilty plea was announced by U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin, who praised the investigative work of state and federal law enforcement partners.
