A Georgia man’s descent into madness ended in a federal prison sentence after he threatened to behead an IRS agent and burn down his house with his kids inside. Stephane Brice, 23, made the chilling threats over the phone in March 2025.
On March 18, 2025, Brice called the IRS to complain about a tax refund issue. But things quickly took a dark turn as he grew frustrated and began spewing profanity-laced threats against the agent.
The next day, a federal law enforcement officer called Brice as part of an investigation into his threats. Brice continued to rant and rave, vowing to behead the agent and burn down his house with his children inside.
Brice’s outburst was captured on phone recordings, which were used as evidence in his case. He pleaded guilty to interstate transmission of threats to assault and kill a federal law enforcement officer on January 6, 2026.
U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Barber sentenced Brice to 27 months in federal prison. The case was investigated by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) and the Internal Revenue Service.
