A disturbing trend of violence has reached the streets of Tampa, with a local man threatening top officials in a pair of disturbing videos.
Alexander Justin McAfee, 34, allegedly published the videos on April 8 and 9, 2026, targeting FBI Director Kash Patel and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
The videos, which have not been made public, sparked a swift investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Tampa Police Department, and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Capitol Police and the United States Secret Service.
McAfee was taken into custody on April 17, 2026, and has been held without bail pending trial. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Muriel Moore.
