A brazen daylight robbery at a Tampa pizza store in October 2024 ended with the perpetrator behind bars. Justin Alan Seymour (37, Tampa) pointed a gun at the store clerk, but his own dashcam-filmed getaway vehicle gave law enforcement the break they needed.
Cops tracked Seymour’s unique ride to a traffic stop two days later, where they found him with a firearm in his waistband. His phone data placed him at the scene of the crime.
A prior felony conviction for attempted robbery with a firearm disqualified Seymour from possessing a firearm under federal law. He’s now facing time for Hobbs Act Robbery and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Samantha Newman led the prosecution, with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office doing the legwork.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation helped crack Seymour’s phone data, sealing his fate.
