⏱ 2 min read

A brazen prison trafficker’s reign of terror has come to an end. Omar Idonis Graciani Rodriguez, 32, was sentenced to life in federal prison for running a fentanyl and methamphetamine trafficking operation from behind bars in the Middle District of Florida.

According to court documents, Graciani Rodriguez used contraband cellphones to instruct his co-conspirators on the outside to pick up cash and controlled substances from various addresses, then deliver them to other buyers. He even kept ledgers and had his minions send him photos of the cash.

During a 4-month conspiracy, Graciani Rodriguez directed his co-conspirators via phone calls, text messages, and pictures. He was even on a contraband cellphone in real-time while a kilogram of fentanyl was delivered to a buyer.

Prison officials caught wind of Graciani’s operation in June 2024, when they found two hidden cellphones and a SIM card on him during a sweep of prison cells. He was even busted with a drug ledger in his cell.

Graciani’s operation distributed at least 400 grams of fentanyl and 500 grams of methamphetamine, and brought in a whopping $211,903 in profits.
