⏱ 2 min read

A convicted felon’s freedom was crushed in a Pensacola, Florida, courtroom yesterday when 45-year-old Grant Bieber was sentenced to four years in federal prison for possessing ammunition.

The crime went down on October 28, 2024, when Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence in Cantonment, Florida. When they arrived, they found Bieber and a woman in her vehicle outside the residence. A search warrant was obtained for his truck, where deputies found a box of .22-caliber ammunition and a wallet containing his Alabama Driver License.

Bieber’s rap sheet boasted multiple felony offenses, making him a prohibited person from possessing firearms or ammunition. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Tharp handled the case, which was the result of a joint investigation with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin praised the investigative work by law enforcement and vowed to continue backing their efforts with aggressive prosecutions to keep communities safe.
