A brazen Honduran alien with a history of violence has been caught re-entering the US for the third time. Jose Guadelupe Escobar, 39, was found guilty by a federal jury in Tallahassee, Florida, of illegally re-entering the country.
Escobar was first encountered by Border Patrol in 2004 after wading across the Rio Grande River. He was removed from the US in 2009 after serving time for attempted murder in a Virginia jail.
But Escobar didn’t stay gone for long. He re-entered the US in 2013 and was removed again in 2014. His latest re-entry attempt in 2025 ended with a guilty verdict.
During his trial, Escobar admitted to a history of violence, including time spent in jail in Honduras and Mexico on suspicion of murder.
Escobar’s sentencing is scheduled for June 25, 2026. The US Attorney’s Office has vowed to aggressively prosecute criminal aliens to ensure the nation’s borders remain secure.
