A Charleston man has been sentenced to federal prison for distributing heroin, announced Acting United States Attorney Carol Casto. Alan Alexander Clark, 33, pleaded guilty to the offense and was sentenced to two years in federal prison.
The investigation revealed that Clark sold heroin to a confidential informant working with law enforcement on multiple occasions. The first transaction took place on July 29, 2015, at the Rite Aid at 406 Washington Street, West, in Charleston.
Clark admitted to selling heroin and methamphetamine to the informant on three additional occasions. The Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team conducted the investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Clint Carte handling the prosecution.
United States District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr., imposed the sentence, which will be served consecutively with Clark’s supervised release violation sentence. He was also sentenced to an additional two years in prison for violating his federal supervised release.
