LAKE CHARLES, La. – United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced today that Dexter Jamone Allen, 37, of Fenton, Louisiana, was sentenced to 151 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for possession of firearms as a convicted felon and possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl.
Allen’s downfall began on February 8, 2022, when Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators stopped him for a traffic violation. During the stop, they discovered a vacuum-sealed bag containing 49.81 grams of heroin, fentanyl, and 4-ANPP. A search warrant led to further seizure of controlled substances, a digital scale, more cash, and five firearms, two of which were reported as stolen.
United States District Judge James D. Cain Jr. handed down the sentence after Allen pleaded guilty on February 7, 2024. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant United States Attorneys Casey Richmond and Danny Siefker prosecuting the case.
Brendan Alexander Delafose, 28, from Lake Charles, faced his own fate as he was sentenced to 24 months in prison for illegal possession of a machine gun. The crime came to light when Delafose was stopped for careless driving and found with a Glock firearm equipped with a conversion device in July 2021.
Another Lake Charles area man, Daniel Chemeeks Rodasti, 35, was sentenced to 105 months for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Rodasti’s crime involved a traffic stop where he was caught with a Smith & Wesson and an Arex semi-automatic pistol after officers smelled marijuana.
Rodasti also pleaded guilty on February 7, 2024, the same day as Allen. Both Delafose and Rodasti were sentenced to supervised release upon their prison term’s completion.
