Amador Cruz-Martinez, Illegal Reentry after Deportation, South Dakota 2025

A Rapid City man, Amador Cruz-Martinez, 31, has been sentenced to time served for Illegal Reentry after Deportation, a felony crime.

The sentencing took place on July 15, 2025, in U.S. District Court in Rapid City. U.S. District Judge Camela C. Theeler handed down the sentence.

Cruz-Martinez was found back in the United States in March 2025, after being deported to Mexico in 2015. Reentering the United States after deportation is a felony.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Anna Lindrooth prosecuted the case.

Cruz-Martinez will be deported once released from the custody of the U.S. Marshals.
