GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: In a chilling revelation, 63-year-old Mark Sigl of Antelope has pleaded guilty to attempting to coerce and entice a minor into sexual activity. According to court documents, Sigl engaged in illegal communications with an individual he believed to be the father of a 10-year-old girl. Unbeknownst to him, this person was an undercover officer.
The scheme unraveled when Sigl arrived at the predetermined meeting site, only to be apprehended by law enforcement officers. Investigators recovered several sex items from his vehicle, which was parked outside the location.
This sinister case is a result of a joint investigation by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and the Sacramento Valley High Tech Crimes Taskforce. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zulkar Khan is handling the prosecution.
Sigl, who faces a maximum statutory penalty of life in prison and a $250,000 fine, is set to be sentenced on October 7, 2025, by U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez. The actual sentence will be determined based on applicable factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
