Inver Grove Heights Man Sentenced to 180 Months in Prison for Producing Child PornographyA 34-year-old man from Inver Grove Heights has been handed a harsh sentence after producing sexually explicit images of a minor.Details of the CrimeAccording to court documents, Antonio Eric Torres Maldonado admitted to sexually abusing a minor over a multiple year period. During this time, Maldonado used his cell phone to take sexually explicit photographs of the minor.Guilty Plea and ConvictionMaldonado pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of production and attempted production of child pornography on April 21, 2021. He was also charged and convicted in Dakota County of first degree criminal sexual conduct and was sentenced to 172 months in prison, which will be served concurrent to the federal sentence.Federal SentenceOn [date], U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson sentenced Maldonado to 180 months in prison followed by 15 years of supervised release for producing sexually explicit images of a minor.Investigation and ProsecutionThis case was the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI and the Lakeville Police Department.
