In a shocking turn of events, Alan Russell, a 30-year-old Omaha man, was recently sentenced to 6 years in prison for his role in the 2014 armed bank robbery of U.S. Bank.

On April 30, 2014, Russell, along with his brother Aaron and Marcus Sanders, stormed into the U.S. Bank branch located at 8905 Maple Street, Omaha, Nebraska, and pistol whipped the bank manager, making off with a whopping $21,000.

Russell’s accomplices, Aaron Russell and Marcus Sanders, had previously pleaded guilty and were serving prison sentences. Russell, however, chose to go to trial, where he was convicted of armed bank robbery in September 2017.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) led the investigation into the 2014 bank robbery, bringing Russell to justice.
