Chanse Treyvon Burge, a 32-year-old Oklahoma City man, has been sentenced to over a decade in federal prison after an armed robbery at a metro apartment. On March 18, 2025, Burge and two accomplices forced their way into an apartment, with Burge holding a firearm to the victim’s head and threatening to shoot her. The trio then searched the apartment before fleeing, with Burge later arrested at a nearby hotel where a firearm was recovered.
The victim reported that Burge struck her in the head multiple times with the firearm during the robbery. Burge has a lengthy criminal history, including previous felony convictions for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm after juvenile adjudication, and possession of marijuana.
Burge pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm on September 26, 2025, and was sentenced to 137 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Patrick R. Wyrick, who noted the need to protect the public from further crimes by Burge.
The case was the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Burge’s sentence reflects the seriousness of the crime and the need to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
