Mujahid Davis, a 24-year-old Philadelphia man, has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for his role in a series of brazen armored truck robberies that took place in Philadelphia between July and October 2025. Along with his co-defendant, Dante Shackleford, Davis targeted Brinks trucks, making off with a total of $122,225. The robberies occurred on July 2, July 15, August 12, and October 3, 2025, with Davis and his accomplices using firearms to carry out the crimes.
Davis pleaded guilty to two attempted Hobbs Act robberies, two Hobbs Act robberies, and one count of carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. His co-defendant, Shackleford, also pleaded guilty to similar charges and is scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
The investigation was led by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department, with Assistant United States Attorneys Robert Eckert and Kwambina Coker handling the prosecution. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat violent crime in the city.
Davis’s sentence includes five years of supervised release and $134,000 in restitution. The significant prison term reflects the seriousness of the crimes, which put the lives of armored truck guards and bystanders at risk.
