⏱ 2 min read

Craig Hardy, a 66-year-old Schuylkill County man, is accused of failing to register as a sex offender after relocating to New York. The alleged failure to register occurred from November 3, 2025, and continued until the present. Hardy, of Ashland, Pennsylvania, was required to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) but failed to do so.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Marshals Service (USMS) and the Pennsylvania State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Tatum R. Wilson is prosecuting the case, which was announced by United States Attorney Brian D. Miller.

Hardy faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a term of supervised release, and a fine if found guilty. The case will be decided by a judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

It’s worth noting that indictments are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court. The case against Hardy is ongoing, and the outcome has yet to be determined.
