A North Carolina man tried to hire hitmen in Philly to kill his former business partner and his partner’s paramour for a cool $30,000. Xin Guang Guo, 48, of Plymouth, NC, wanted the two people dead, and was willing to pay top dollar for the hit.

Guo sent text messages to the would-be hitmen, detailing his plan and even arranged to meet with them to hand over a small payment for the job. But the ‘hitmen’ were actually undercover ATF agents, who arrested Guo in Philly without incident.
Guo’s plan was to pay $15,000 for each murder, and even asked for proof before handing over the rest of the cash. But his scheme was foiled when he met with the ATF agents on October 6, 2025.
Guo faces up to 20 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 15, 2026.
