Aaron Lloyd Mitchell, Child Pornography Production, Arkansas 2023

TEXARKANA – In a chilling blow to the online pedophile network, Aaron Lloyd Mitchell, 25, of Ashdown, Arkansas, was today sentenced by the Honorable Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey to 360 months in federal prison without parole for producing child pornography.

The harrowing images showed the sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl, which Mitchell uploaded onto the internet. The FBI in Texarkana, Arkansas, swung into action after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On November 21, 2018, agents swooped down on Mitchell’s residence, where he confessed to his monstrous act during an interview.

Mitchell faced multiple charges involving the sexual exploitation of a minor but pleaded guilty to production of child pornography on June 20, 2019. The U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas announced the sentence, which also includes 20 years of supervised release.

The FBI played a pivotal role in this investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Roberts prosecuted the case with relentless determination. This conviction comes as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative to combat child sexual exploitation online.

Project Safe Childhood has been instrumental in identifying and apprehending predators like Mitchell, ensuring that they face justice for their heinous crimes. For more information on this crucial initiative, visit www.justice.gov/psc.
